News from the Outreach Committee
The purpose of
the Outreach Committee is to witness our faith in the world. We will be
doing that primarily through events formally handled by the Mission
Committee and through community outreach events like the Pork Dinners and
Farmer's Market.
This past year has been a time to reflect and determine how best to move
forward with the purposes of the committee, and we hope that the coming year
will offer plenty of opportunities to achieve our goals. We have plans in
the works to support a Habitat for Humanity House and are looking for ways
to help and/or be a stronger presence in Limaand the surrounding area. If
you know of any unmet needs locally please let us know.
We're excited
to be a part of this church family and want to convey our warmth and
personality to website visitors. Later this fall we will provide Post-It
notes after the service so that you can share your words with us. Please
start thinking about what you'd like to share! We are very hopeful that
everyone will play a part in the events of the upcoming year - whether it is
by baking pies or dishwashing for the dinners, contributing to special
offerings throughout the year, or visiting the Farmer's Market. These events
will help us grow as a faith community as well as strengthen our service to
others and our presence in the community. It just can't be done without your
assistance and support -plus, it's so much more fun with everyone joining
in! We look forward to a very productive year and welcome your ideas and
suggestions. |
